She is waiting for the doctors and quiet nervous.
And she insists that she does not want to stay in hospital a day longer than absolutely necessary......lol
I think we will keep fingers crossed for her.

Have everybody read the article Julia had posted at the board about this girl Lisa is helping?
It is so easy to get registered as a bone marrow donor. I was registered in college and read later again about the subject than the daughter of a fellow lawyer got sick with leukemia and the local bar association tried to find a donor for the girl. All they need to register you is some cells from inside your mouth. It is done in a second, but it may safe someones life.

I am sure there is something similar in the USA.
This is really an easy way to help fight cancer and other serious diseases and you should consider being registered, if you are not already.

Thank you ladies for keeping us posted. I'm on needles and pins with this
waiting; I can only imagine how nerve wracking it must have been for Heike
leading up to this day. She sure is a pillar of strength, a great fighter, yet 
so gentle and patient. Such an inspiration is she to me...sounds familar doesn't it? 
Ya, she's following his example...she learned well.

Heike: All the best to you! I'd tell you to hurry back, but knowing you, you just 
may do that before you're suppose to...bad admin *wink and grin*

To all: I haven't heard from Kat...going on the theory of "no news is good news".
I'm assuming the exercises are keeping her quite busy or she may be recuperating at
her daughter's who doesn't have a computer. I pray all is going well for her and soon
she will be back with us all.

Thank you for your prayers and wishes. I think I can say that to all,
as well. You are all so wonderful about remembering Laurel. Like I said
I don't talk about it much, as it is painful. I do pray a lot,as I know 
God is listening. He will do as he sees fit, I know that. He must know
she doesn't want to fight, so I am sure he will ease her pain. 
Today is not such a good news day for my Laurel. She has decided to go 
home and not fight anymore. Her daughters are OK with this, apparently,
and are looking for someone to stay with her until the end. I am 2000 miles
from her, so I am not able. Please pray for her and that someone kind will
be with her. I will keep praying, and I told her yesterday that you never
really know if the doctors are right. I tried to make her want to fight, but
alas, it didn't work. I guess she has too many difficulties to overcome and
is not wanting to do so. God will watch over her, I know. There is nothing 
more I can do, besides pray! I just ask for prayers. Please? Also, that she
is not in pain. She will not take pain medication. We have one stubborn sister.

I think of you many times today, and prayed at 2am (USA) time 
I hope and pray that you do well and this is the answer to your
problems. I hope you get well and have much fun this summer!
Heike, we are so lucky to have you and you give so much to this
community. You always have time for each of us. I know you had some 
wonderful Guardian Angels with you during surgery, and probably 
are dreaming of them now, as you sleep.
We are all waiting word of how it went. I know Bianca is there and
spoke with you briefly, but, it seems you were enjoying your sleep 
a lot and couldn't tell her much! We all wait to hear, and I know
when you are able we will hear. Until then, prayers are being sent
to you from around the world! Be strong and allow them to pamper you! 
Bianca will take care of things at home. So don't worry! Take care of

I just had Heike on the phone. She is tired yet, but ok. The surgery was successful.
Thank God for that.

Come here and get a huge embrace.
I am sure you will do what is right for your sister.
My grandmother also insisted on going home and we had a nurse to take care of her.
I think to have someone with a professional medical background at hand is very helpful.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, and so is your sister and your entire family.
I hope she will be at peace and with as few pain as possible.

Sandie: I'm so sorry to hear of the pain you are enduring. It's always so sad 
for the survivors. But no one wants to be selfish and have her endure her pain 
and suffering without the quality of life she deserves.

I know what you are saying is right, but it is very difficult.
We all want the best, and each of us has different ideas as 
to how that should be. In the end, it will be God's idea and 
we know his is right! I am trying to make peace with this and
I think in someways I am already grieving. It feels weird, but
that is how I am feeling. So, thank all of you for your prayers
and kind words. Please continue as we don't know how long she will
be with us. They say it could be two months or more or less? 
So, please continue with your prayers, it helps to know and I know
it helps!

Just spoke with Heike on the phone. She is so well that the doctor said she can go home today.
Of course she needs to be careful and not do too much.......I am sure Bianca and Hans will take good care of her.

Hi Everyone!
Texgal has been so sweet and concerned for those in need with her love, support
and encouragement. Could we return those words to her? 
She had an MRI recently which showed she has a bulging disc compressing on a 
nerve making her back hurt and sending a tingling through her hip, down into her 
thigh and all the way down to her foot. She will be undergoing chiropractic therapy 
for the next several months with the hope of rectifying the problem.
Can we lend an ear and/or shoulder to her and words of love, support and encourage
her back to health again? Along with this her best friend, Kathy, just lost her mom 
and texgal and her husband are stressed with the selling of their house. Some dark 
moments for her...maybe we can brighten it up for her.

@ Texgal: Sorry, to hear about your back. You can be sure I know exactly what this means for you. You know you will have here everytime a place to talk and a lot of shoulders to lean on. Whenever you need someone, you find here one to talk. That is a postive side of an international side, the time difference will help you. I hope you knows, that you have here friends who will help you so good as we all can do it. 

Sometimes, we all need a shoulder to lean on, and of course it is not so easy to talk about it, or to find someone who want to listen. This is a wonderful thing, what all here created ... a place, where everyone can talk and find someone who listen and help. I wish all of you an wonderful weekend, maybe we see us in the european evening in the chat.

I always feel you guys with me, I think God is awfully nice
to open up my heart to feel all of your good wishes.
We're off on a mini-vacation to see Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota, about a
8 hour drive from here. Staying in a little mountain cabin and looking forward
to being away for awhile. Lots to do in the area, lots of history with the wild west and
lots of native American Indian history. I'll take alot of pictures and when I get back,
I'll post them on my Facebook page.
Heike, you're a good, dear, friend and I treasure you. I hope everyday you get to feeling better
and better. Just take it one day at a time, dear friend...

Jepp, it seems we are never running short of problems and worries.
But that's life and we all have good times too
But come what may, good or bad,it is always better to have friends at hand.
Some problems are beyond anyones power to solve, but to have a shoulder to lean on may help a bit to endure things.
